On July 12, 2022, the co-director of foreign policy and international security programmes of Razumkov Centre Mykhailo Pashkov took part in a meeting of the expert working group of the international project «Support for Implementation of the Ukraine-EU Association Agreement», Phase ІІ (Association 4U). It discussed the problems of development of the European integration communication strategy in the context of Ukraine’s status of a candidate for the EU membership.
The participants outlined immediate and long-term goals and tasks of the information backing for Ukraine’s European integration in view of the specifics of the domestic audience in wartime. In particular, they stressed the need to oppose negative stereotypes and narratives, circulating in the Ukrainian society and fed by the Russian propaganda.
The participants of the meeting paid a great deal of attention to information backing for the present phase of the European integration, with implementation of the European Commission recommendations as the main goal.
One part of the discussion was dedicated to the problems of communication with the EU countries, in particular, informing the European public about the specific features and problems of Ukraine’s road to the EU, with account of specific features of the audience in different countries of the European Union.
