On June 25, 2025, Razumkov Centre research fellow on legal issues, retired judge of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine P. Stetsiuk took part in the All-Ukrainian scientific and practical conference "Constitutional Protection of Human Rights in the Context of the Doctrine of European and Ukrainian Justice: Theory and Practice".
The event was organized by the Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University (Department of Constitutional, International and Administrative Law of the Educational-Scientific Institute of Law). Leading Ukrainian legal scholars from Ivano-Frankivsk, Kyiv, Lviv, Odessa, Ternopil, Kharkiv and other cities took part in the conference.
The conference participants focused on the basic constitutional and legal principles of state-building in Ukraine, the place and role of the national judicial bodies in this process, and the problems of protection of human and civil rights under martial law. In his report “Specificity of Protection of Human Rights by the Constitutional Court of Ukraine under Martial Law” Razumkov Centre research fellow on legal issues P. Stetsiuk drew the attention of the conference participants to the new challenges and threats that have arisen before the single body of constitutional jurisdiction in the exercise of its constitutional powers. According to the expert, in order to improve the activities of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine in general and to protect human and civil rights and freedoms in particular, it is necessary to complete the process of formation of the institute of constitutional complaints and urgently fill the existing vacancies of judges in the Constitutional Court of Ukraine.
