At a summit in Vilnius in July 2023, the leaders of the European Council and the European Commission along with representatives of the G7 countries agreed the Joint Declaration in Support for Ukraine.
Every country that joined this initiative is working or will work with Ukraine on a bilateral document containing concrete long-term security obligations.
The first signatories of the declaration included Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Great Britain and the USA.
