In April 2025, the Springer Nature publishing house (Germany) released another annual publication - "The United States and the Future of Europe. Views from the Capitals", which was prepared by the Trans-European Political Studies Association (TEPSA). The editors of the publication are Michael Kaeding, professor at the Duisburg-Essen University (Germany), Johannes Pollack, rector of Webster University (Austria), and Paul Schmidt, representing the Austrian European Policy Community.
The publication carries analytical articles by well-known experts from over 40 countries - EU members and other European states. The authors' assessments of the current state and prospects of the bilateral relations between European countries and the United States and possible transformations of the transatlantic partnership system against the background of Donald Trump's new policy deserve attention. Also interesting are the forecasts and proposals of the European expert community regarding the development of geopolitical and geoeconomic processes. In general, given the effect of the “US factor”, the topic of this publication, intended for a wide range of readers interested in international politics, is highly relevant.
The volume contains an article by Razumkov Centre's President Yu. Yakimenko and Co-Director of Foreign Policy and International Security Programmes M. Pashkov “The Price and Weight of the Washington-Kyiv Strategic Partnership”. The authors focus on the specifics and features of the current state of the Ukraine-US relations, the problems and prospects of bilateral partnership in the conditions of the large-scale war in Ukraine.
