The statement emphasizes that the beginning of negotiations on joining the EU is of strategic importance and weight for our country, and will give a new impetus to further pro-European transformations in Ukraine. The stage of negotiations envisages a new, pragmatic format of further reforms, so urgent in wartime. In particular, it is about the promotion of democratic freedoms, adaptation of the Ukrainian legislation to the EU norms and regulations, improving the work of the system of anti-corruption bodies, furtherance of the judicial reform, etc.
The Public Council notes that the success of the new stage of Ukraine's European integration will depend on joint political, military and economic support and assistance to Ukraine from the EU and its member states, jointly resisting the aggressor country.
The members of the Public Council under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterated that they would focus on supporting the European integration movement of Ukraine and called on public organizations and the expert community of Ukraine to step up support and contribute to our country’s accession to the European community.
