On 11 June 2019, a discussion titled “EU-Ukraine Integration at Crossroad — Opportunities and Risks of the Association Process” took place in Brussels in the premises of Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom, organised within its European Dialogue programme in collaboration with Promote Ukraine.
The Razumkov Centre’s publication “Reformatting the European Integration Process: Opportunities and Risks for the Ukraine-EU Association”, presented by Volodymyr Sidenko, the Project Leader and the Centre’s Senior Research Fellow, was the centrepiece of the event.
Mr. Taras Byk, Government Relations Director with the Kyiv-based Wooden Horse Strategies company, was a co-speaker. Ms. Ulla Hakanen, Team Leader for Ukraine, Eastern Partnership Bilateral Relations, European External Action Service, joined the above speakers for the Q&A session. The event was moderated by Dr Marta Barandiy, Founder and President of Proamote Ukraine.
The event was attended by more than 30 guests, including the European Commission personnel, members of the Ukrainian Think Tank Liaison Office in Brussels, representatives of the diplomatic bodies, think tanks, universities, businesses and media.
This event will contribute to a better understanding of possible alternative solutions for Ukraine’s European integration course in the context of elections and the renewal of power structures both in Ukraine and in the European Union, and in view of new strategic decisions on further development of the European integration processes by the EU governing bodies.
The publication was funded by the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom in Ukraine
