Participation in the international scientific-practical conference "Elections as a form of direct democracy: popular rule, state, legislation"

 On May 21, 2025, Razumkov Centre research fellow on legal issues, retired judge of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine P. Stetsiuk took part in the international scientific-practical conference "Elections as a form of direct democracy: popular rule, state, legislation". The event was organized by the V. M. Koretsky Institute of State and Law of the NAS of Ukraine together with the National Academy of Legal Sciences of Ukraine, the Association of People's Deputies of Ukraine, the Association of Ukrainian Lawyers and the Institute of Legislative Foresight and Legal Expertise.

Leading Ukrainian legal scholars, people's deputies of Ukraine, practitioners from the state authorities and local self-government bodies took part in the conference. The conference participants paid attention to the historical and legal aspects of the development of democracy and electoral processes, philosophical, legal and sociological problems of democracy, issues of legislative regulation of electoral processes in general and the issue of holding elections in the conditions of the Russian war against Ukraine in particular. Razumkov Centre research fellow P. Stetsiuk delivered a report "Constitutional and Legal "Prohibitions" on Holding Elections in Ukraine under Martial Law, Practice of Their Implementation and Problems of Interpretation" .
