On July 4–5, 2024, the National University of Ostroh Academy hosted the 7th International Scientific and Practical Conference "Administrative Justice in Ukraine: Problems of Theory and Practice".
The conference was organized by the Supreme Court (Cassation Administrative Court) in close cooperation with the offices of the Council of Europe in Ukraine, the German Foundation for International Legal Cooperation and the EU Project "Pravo-Justice".
The conference was attended by judges of the Supreme Court and the Constitutional Court of Ukraine, retired judges of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine, judges of administrative appellate and district courts, people's deputies of Ukraine and practical workers of the state authorities and local self-government bodies, scholars from Kyiv, Lviv, Odesa, Ostroh, Kharkiv, and foreign guests from Austria, Italy, Canada, Lithuania, Poland and Croatia. The conference was held in a mixed mode.
The conference participants focused on issues of access to public information and the right to appeal to the state authorities, local governments, their officials and officers, protection and restriction of the freedom of association in political parties and public organizations, as well as current problems of the “institute of citizenship” in Ukraine and possible challenges and threats during the organization and conduct of elections in the post-war period.
Speaking with the report "Constitutional development of post-war Ukraine (citizenship factor)", Razumkov Centreresearch fellow on legal issues, retired judge of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine P. Stetsiuk drew the attention of the conference participants to the peculiarities of the legal nature of the constitutional provision of Article 4 of the Basic Law ("There is single citizenship in Ukraine"), the practice of its application in "pre-war times" and the emergence of new (probable) problems in this regard after the end of martial law in Ukraine.
