On February 7, 2025, the Director of Energy and Infrastructure Programmes of Razumkov Centre V. Omelchenko took part in the Commission meeting. This meeting considered alleged violations in the financial and economic activities of NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine, including in course of fulfilling special duties assigned by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and other tasks ensuing from the ownership policy. At the same time, the Commission sought additional explanations regarding:
— formation of and compliance with the forecasted natural gas balance for 2024–2025;
— calculation of compensation for NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine for the fulfilment of special duties in 2022–2023;
— accrual of debts in the natural gas market;
— fulfilment of special duties in the natural gas market.
Speaking at the event, V. Omelchenko, in particular, noted the record low stocks in underground gas storage facilities due to miscalculations of NJSC "Naftogaz of Ukraine". He also mentioned shortcomings of the company's commercial strategy.
Representatives of the Ministry of Energy, NEURC, State Audit Service, Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine, NJSC "Naftogaz of Ukraine", Ukraine's GTS Operator and branch experts took part in the event — a total of 25 people — which was organized by the Energy Committee of the Verkhovna Rada.
