On August 3, 2023, Razumkov Centre Energy and Infrastructure Programmes Director V. Omelchenko took part in the meeting of the Working Group on monitoring the implementation of the Law of Ukraine "On the Natural Gas Market" and state regulation of the natural gas market under the chairmanship of the First Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Committee on Energy, Housing and Utility Services O. Kucherenko.
It was organized by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Committee on Energy, Housing and Utility Services.
Agenda of the meeting:
- Financial recovery and prospects of Naftogaz of Ukraine (speaker: O.M. Chernyshov, Naftogaz of Ukraine).
- Results of performance of special duties to ensure public interests during functioning of the natural gas market (speakers: NJSC "Naftogaz of Ukraine", Ministry of Infrastructure, NEURC, Association of Ukrainian Cities).
- The state of stock exchange trading, the need to develop a competitive short-term wholesale gas market and its liquidity on trading platforms (speakers: Naftogaz of Ukraine, Association of Gas Production Companies of Ukraine, Ministry of Energy, Ukrainian Energy Exchange).
- The state of Ukraine’s gas transportation system, volumes of natural gas transit across the territory of Ukraine, and prospects of the Ukrainian GTS development (speakers: LLC "Operator of the GTS of Ukraine", Ministry of Energy, JSC "Main Gas Pipelines of Ukraine".
