The world economy has entered a period of deep uncontrolled turbulence. The current transformation of international relations from neoliberal free trade to cruel mercantilism, from an open, rules-based multilateral international order to a world ruled by force has come as a shock to both developed and emerging countries, demonstrating their poor ability to unite and protect economic freedom. The situation is complicated by the fact that the current “perfect storm” is based on the contradictions of the two largest powers – the US and China. And as long as the confrontational waves between the US and China are forming an ever-widening circle of mutual confrontations, it complicates the search for rational, balanced solutions aimed at strengthening the global economy.
