During September 17–21, 2017 the Razumkov Centre’s delegation, consisting of Director General Anatoliy Rachok, Deputy Director General, Director of Political and Legal Programs, editor-in-chief of the National Security and Defence journal Yuriy Yakymenko made a visit to Germany in the framework of the Hanns Seidel Foundation’s Information Program.
During their stay in Germany, the Razumkov Centre’s delegation visited the German Institute for Global and Territorial Studies (GIGA) in Hamburg where they met with Commercial Director Peter Peetz and Director of the Institute for the Middle East Study Prof. Dr. Henner Furtig. Moreover, Anatoliy Rachok and Yuriy Yakymenko attended the German Institute of International and Security Affairs (SWP) in Berlin where they met with Deputy Director General Christoph Geisler, Head of the Eastern Europe and Eurasia Studies Department Sabine Fischer and senior fellow of the Eastern Europe and Eurasia Studies Department Susan Stewart.
At the meeting the issues of think tanks activities, mechanisms of the registration of the new think tanks, priorities and prospects of cooperation with research institutes of Ukraine, as well as channels of communication with different target audiences were discussed. In addition, the issue of cooperation between the Razumkov Centre and the German Institute of International and Security Affairs (SWP) on the implementation of the joint analytical projects were also negotiated during the meeting.
During the stay in Berlin, the Razumkov Centre’s delegation also visited the Hanns Seidel Foundation Central Office, where they met with its Head Dr. Alexander Wolf. The current state of German-Ukrainian relations and cooperation between the Razumkov Centre and Hanns Seidel Foundation in the areas of international politics and security were discussed at the meeting.
