Yuriy Yakymenko, the Razumkov Centre’s Deputy Director General attended the Global Think Tank Summit that took place in Brussels on 7–9 November 2018. The event was organised by the Think Tanks and Civil Societies Programme (TTCSP) of the University of Pennsylvania and the Bruegel (Brussels). This global forum brought together representatives of more than 100 leading analytical centres, who discussed the most critical issues of international politics, economy, security, governance, social and humanitarian development and environment.
The summit participants shared their views on key challenges, problems and opportunities for their organisations that emerge as a result of violent and sometimes destructive changes in their environment. Priority issues included the use of new information technologies and social media for effective communication with different audiences; support for gender parity and involvement of young researchers; development of effective strategies combining high quality of research with effective dissemination of findings and recommendations. During the summit, representatives of leading global think tanks had the opportunity to establish new contacts and outline possible areas of cooperation.
