On November 21-22, Razumkov Centre took part in the international conference "Securing Europe's Future", organized by the Trans-European Policy Studies Association (TEPSA) on the occasion of the beginning of the Polish presidency in the Council of the European Union.
The purpose of the conference, which was held in Warsaw, was to discuss the goals and priorities of the upcoming Polish presidency and the key policy areas that require attention of the EU. The forum participants stated that the first half of 2025 will be a critical moment for Europe, given the continuation of Russia's aggressive war in Ukraine, actualization of the enlargement issues and strengthening hybrid threats to the EU and its neighbours. Therefore, the conference focused on a number of interrelated themes, including energy security, enlargement, European defence investments, and competition policy.
The conference featured high-level discussions between researchers from the TEPSA network (of which the Razumkov Centre is a member), public figures, including students and civil society representatives, and key Polish government officials. TEPSA traditionally presented recommendations for the upcoming Polish EU presidency.
The conference was organized by the Trans-European Policy Studies Association (TEPSA) in collaboration with the Institute for European Studies of the Jagiellonian University, the Future Democracy Lab and the Visegrad Insight platform. Special support for some agenda items was provided by the Horizon Europe project “Activating European Citizens’ Trust in Times of Crises and Polarization (ActEU)”, the University of Warsaw and Adam Mickiewicz Institute for European Studies.
