Razumkov Centre Research Fellow on Legal Issues, retired Judge of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine Petro Stetsiuk took part in the International Scientific-Practical Conference "The EU Constitutional Law in the Context of European Integration of Ukraine" (Kharkiv, 04/21/2023).
The event was organized by the Karazin Kharkiv National University jointly with the National Academy of Legal Sciences of Ukraine.
Known law experts from Kyiv, Lviv, Odesa, Uzhgorod, Chernivtsi, Kharkiv, scholars from Lithuania and Poland took part in the conference. Interesting reports were delivered by foreign scientists, namely the dean of the Faculty of Law of Vytautas Magnus University (Kaunas), former Chairman of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Lithuania prof. Dainius Žalimas ("EU law in the national paradigm: the Lithuanian experience").
In his report "Constitutional provision of the irreversibility of the European and Euro-Atlantic trajectory of Ukraine as a component of its European integration processes", P. Stetsiuk, in particular, emphasised the political and legal significance of the constitutional changes of 2019 regarding the European and Euro-Atlantic integration of Ukraine. According to the expert, the regular and consistent implementation (fulfilment) of the aforementioned constitutional provisions can significantly accelerate Ukraine's accession to the EU and its full membership in NATO.
