Razumkov Centre research fellow on legal issues, retired judge of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine Petro Stetsiuk took part in the International Scientific Conference "Political and Legal Consequences of Ukraine's Accession to the EU and NATO ("Ustrojowe konsekwencje przystąpienia Ukrainy do Unii Europejskiej i NATO"), which took place on 7–8 November, 2023 in Rzeszów (RP).
The event was organized by the WSPiA University of Rzeszów (WSPiA Rzeszowska Szkoła Wyższa) and took place on the margins of the regular meeting of the Ukrainian-Polish Club of Constitutionalists. Well-known constitutional scholars from Warsaw, Gdańsk, Łódż, Lviv, Kyiv, Kraków, Odesa, Toruń, Kharkiv and other Ukrainian and Polish cities took part in the conference.
The conference participants discussed possible obstacles and ways to overcome them during Ukraine's accession to the EU and NATO, the role of national parliaments in the process of European integration, as well as possible constitutional changes related to the accession to the European Union and NATO. Polish scholars shared their experience of constitutional and legal regulation of the process of adaptation of the national constitutional and legal system to European and Euro-Atlantic structures. Peculiarities of functioning of the constitutional and legal mechanism of ensuring Ukraine's strategic course towards full membership in the EU and NATO were covered in the presentation made at the conference by the Razumkov Centre research fellow on legal issues P. Stetsiuk.
