Co-Director of foreign relations and international security programs Oleksiy Melnyk attended international conference “Transformation of Ukraine: Assessments and Solutions”, which was held in London on July 5, 2017. The conference was organized by the Royal Institute of International relations (Chatham House).
More than 100 participants, including politicians, businessmen, civil society representatives, academics, journalists participated in the conference. They discussed the political and economic situation in Ukraine as a whole, as well as Ukraine’s progress in implementing of reforms.
Oleksiy Melnyk addressed the panel discussion “Geopolitical and Security Risks: Strengthening Ukraine’s Security Capabilities”. The main issues, discussed by the participants were strategies for restoring peace and strengthening regional security, levers of Russian influence on Ukraine’s domestic and foreign policy, regional and global security, and Western actions, needed to strengthen Ukraine’s security capabilities.
