Participation in the hearings of the Energy Committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine "Ukraine's Implementation of the Fourth EU Energy Package “Clean energy for all Europeans”"

On September 25, 2023, the Committee held hearings dedicated to the implementation in Ukraine of the provisions of the EU legislation on the transition to a carbon-free economy, attended by the director of energy and infrastructure programmes of Razumkov Centre V. Omelchenko.

With the Fourth EU Energy Package, Ukraine will be able to create a favourable investment environment necessary to restore the energy system on the basis of reliable and affordable supply of energy resources, and in this way to contribute to a cost-effective energy transition and the achievement of energy and climate goals by 2030, which were approved by the Energy Community Council of Ministers in 2022.

The purpose of the event was to present the Fourth EU Energy Package, to discuss the subsidiary regulatory documents, to show the advantages and to outline the roles of the main stakeholders in its implementation.

The event was attended by members of the Energy Committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, representatives of Ukrainian ministries and agencies, EU state structures, the US AID program, heads of state-owned energy companies and representatives of the expert community. The hearings were moderated by the chairman of the relevant Committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine A. Herus.

The event was organized by the US AID and the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on Energy Committee.

The total of 40 people took part in the event.
