On April 2, 2024, the Director of Energy and Infrastructure Programmes of Razumkov Centre Volodymyr Omelchenko at the invitation of the Embassy of the Republic of Moldova met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Mr. Valeriu Chiveri. The meeting was also attended by Minister-Counselor Ştefan Gorda and Counselor on Economic Affairs Daniela Țurkanu.
The parties discussed issues related with the upgrade of the interstate cross-flow for trade in electricity; use of the Trans-Balkan gas pipeline capacities in the south-north direction; increase in the volumes of natural gas storage by Moldovan companies in Ukrainian underground gas storage facilities; the impact of the Russian bombing of the Ukrainian energy sector on the operation of the Moldovan energy system; coordination of joint efforts to deepen integration with the European Network of Transmission System Operators for Electricity ENTSO-E.
