On June 15, 2023, the Director of Energy and Infrastructure Programmes of Razumkov Centre took part in the expert discussion organized by the Energy Club regarding the problem of setting price caps for electricity in the day-ahead market, the intraday market and the balancing market. 

In his speech, V. Omelchenko urged not to apply price caps in the relevant market segments, which will be a key element of the transition to a liberal market model in accordance with Ukraine's obligations under the Treaty on Accession to the Energy Community.

Questions for discussion:

• Analysis of the impact of price caps on the electricity market;
• How timely is the decision to cancel/change the price caps in the market?
• Modelling the developments in case of cancellation/change of price caps for each participant separately (producers, suppliers, consumers, NEC "Ukrenergo", Market Operator, etc.) and the market as a whole;
• Generation of the Energy Club community proposals regarding regulation of electricity price caps for business.
