On 14 December 2017, Razumkov Centre together with Konrad Adenauer Foundation Office in Ukraine held expert discussion "Political Culture in Ukrainian Society and the State of Parliamentarism at the Present Stage: Problems and Development Trends, Ways of Improvement".
Among participants there were representatives of legislative authorities, scientists, government and independent researchers and experts, as well as representatives of foreign embassies and international organisations.
Razumkov Centre presented its informational-analytical materials that among other things included sociological survey results and a survey of Ukrainian MPs on the issues of political culture and the development of parliamentarism in Ukraine.
In the discussion, the following issues were covered:
- What are the main features and trends in the development of political culture in Ukrainian society at the present stage?
- How do political culture features of the society and its representatives in the Parliament influence the way society perceives the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and its operation?
- What measures for developing political culture and strengthening institutional capacity of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine can contribute to the more effective realisation of its representative function?
