Belarusian Theatre: challenges, threats, forecasts

On July 28, 2022, the co-director of foreign policy and international security programmes of Razumkov Centre Mykhailo Pashkov took part in an expert discussion organised by the Konrad Adenauer Foundation Office in Belarus. It focused on the issues of Ukrainian-Belarusian relations, their state and prospects in the context of the war in Ukraine. Participants of the event included experts from the Belarusian Institute of Political Studies "Political Sphere", the Ukrainian Institute for the Future, experts and scholars from a number of European countries.

In his presentation, Mykhailo Pashkov outlined the evolution of relations between Kyiv and Minsk, noted the role and specificity of the Lukashenko regime's policy as a co-aggressor and ally of the Kremlin. During the discussion, the participants discussed the possible actions of Ukraine in the Belarusian theatre of operations, named the channels and mechanisms of influence on the Belarusian society, the prospects of mutual relations in the post-war period. At the same time, they emphasised the lack of research in Ukraine on the current situation and developments in neighbouring Belarus.
