ANNOUNCEMENT. Expert Discussion "Ukrainian Society, State and Church in Peace and in Wartime. Church and Religion in Ukraine 2000–2025"

On March 4, 2026, Razumkov Centre will hold an Expert Discussion «Ukrainian Society, State and Church in Peace and in Wartime. Church and Religion in Ukraine 2000-2025», which will take place at the Ukrinform news agency (Kyiv, Bohdana Khmelnytskoho St., 8/16) in a mixed (offline-online) format. The event will take place at the National News Agency "Ukrinform" (8/16 Bohdana Khmelnytskoho St., Kyiv, 2nd floor) in a hybrid (online-offline) format from 12:00–13:30.

During the expert discussion, the information materials «Ukrainian Society, State and Church in Peace and in Wartime. Church and Religion in Ukraine-2025», prepared as part of a project supported by the Konrad Adenauer Foundation Office Ukraine, will be presented.

The materials contain the results of sociological monitoring of the church and religious situation in Ukraine during the last 25 years (2000–2025), including the latest nationwide poll conducted in November 2025. Representatives of the authorities, diplomats, politicians, Ukrainian and international scholars and experts are invited to take part.

During the discussion, the following issues are to be discussed:

  • The long-term trends in religiosity of the Ukrainian society and the nature of inter-confessional, inter-church and state-church relations inUkraine (2000–2025).
  • The impact of large-scale Russian aggression on the aforementioned aspects.

A live broadcast of the event will be available on the Ukrinform YouTube channel and the Razumkov Centre website.
