On June 12, 2026, Razumkov Centre research fellow on legal issues, retired judge of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine P. Stetsiuk took part in the 8th International Scientific and Practical Conference "Decentralization of public power in Ukraine: achievements, problems and prospects". The event was organized by the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv (Department of Constitutional Law, Faculty of Law) jointly with the Koretsky Institute of State and Law of the NAS of Ukraine and the University of Law and Administration (WSPiA – Rzeszów, Poland).
The conference focused on the following issues: scientific, methodological, organizational and legal foundations of decentralization of power in Ukraine in the context of foreign experience and European integration; organizational and legal support for territorial communities, local self-government bodies and military administrations under martial law; activities of public authorities aimed at protection of human and civil rights and freedoms in connection with the Russian armed aggression; the role of direct democracy institutions in the municipal reform; problems of sustainable economic development of communities under martial law in the context of decentralization of power in Ukraine. In his report “Decentralization of public power as an integral component of Ukraine’s post-war development” P. Stetsiuk emphasized the necessity of decentralization of public power in the post-war constitutional development of Ukraine, in particular, its importance for the irreversibility of Ukraine’s European and Euro-Atlantic course.
