Is There an Excuse for International Companies that Still Operate in the Aggressor Country?

How do international companies justify their presence in Russia and why is money really the only reason?

It has been 30 years since the era of great opportunities for global corporations opened in Russia. However, decades of trust have been shattered on 24 February, and these companies’ presence in Russia has become too toxic.

The inhumane atrocities and humanitarian crisis in Ukraine caused by the military invasion have prompted most Western companies to curtail their economic activities in Russia.

The Yale School of Management estimates at least 1,000 of such companies.

Cutting the aggressor off from financial resources is an important tool on the battlefield. And corporations took advantage of this by imposing sanctions on themselves.
