GDP, Prices, Hryvnia Exchange Rate. What to Expect in 2022?

According to the updated EBRD forecast, the Ukrainian economy will shrink by 30% this year due to the war. At the end of March, the EBRD projected a 20% decline in GDP. The IMF also predicts that the Ukrainian economy will shrink by a third. The World Bank estimates that Ukraine’s GDP will reduce by at least 45%. After all, according to various data, 30% to 50% of enterprises in Ukraine have completely ceased their activities; about half of all employees have lost their jobs and income.

The Kyiv School of Economics estimates that Ukraine has already lost more than $ 88 billion as a result of infrastructure damage. In general, the losses of the Ukrainian economy, both direct and indirect, such as GDP decline, cessation of investment, labour outflow and the like reach 600 billion US dollars! The government estimates that this figure could rise to $ 1 trillion in the long run.
