Meeting at Razumkov Centre with the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China Ma Shengkun

On March 19, 2025, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China (PRC) to Ukraine Ma Shengkun paid a visit to Razumkov Centre. He was accompanied by the Minister Counsellor of the Embassy Wang Zhenguang and Second Secretary Zhang Senyao. Razumkov Centre was represented by the Centre’s President Yu. Yakymenko, co-directors of foreign policy and international security programmes M. Pashkov and O. Melnyk, leading expert of social and gender programs O. Pyshchulina, director of energy programmes V. Omelchenko.                           

Yu. Yakymenko told the guests about the spheres of interest and priorities of Razumkov Centre's activities and described the topics of current research. Ambassador Ma Shengkun outlined the principles of the current foreign policy of the PRC, in particular, China's position on ending the war in Ukraine, and stressed the importance of developing mutually beneficial partner relations between Beijing and Kyiv in various areas. 

The participants of the meeting discussed modern global geopolitical trends, in particular, the situation after D. Trump’s coming to power in the USA. Particular attention was paid to the war in Ukraine. The problems and prospects of the negotiations were discussed, along with the ways and tools of achieving a stable, just peace for Ukraine.
