The Ukrainian Defence Forces are increasingly applying the strategy of isolating Russian troops by destroying logistical routes and striking critical enemy infrastructure, said the head of foreign policy and international security programmes at Razumkov Centre Oleksiy Melnyk on Radio NV.

Commenting on the situation around Kostyantynivka, the expert noted that the key factor in deterring the Russian offensive may be not keeping individual positions within the city, but isolation of the enemy group from the supply of manpower, ammunition and resources. According to him, this is the approach that the Unmanned Systems Forces have been increasingly using in recent months.

Oleksiy Melnyk dwelt on the situation in occupied Crimea. In his opinion, after attacks on the transport infrastructure and logistical hubs, the peninsula is actually turning into an "island" with increasingly week connection to the Russian territory. This creates problems with the supply of fuel, goods and resources, and puts up psychological pressure on the population and Russian settlers.

The expert also noted the efficiency of Ukrainian strikes on the Russian defence industry. According to him, repeated successful attacks on enterprises producing components for modern weapons not only slow down the pace of production but also demonstrate the vulnerability of the Russian air defence system.

Speaking about international support for Ukraine, Oleksiy Melnyk emphasized time, as one of the key resources in the war. That is why it is important to convince partners to promptly invest in the Ukrainian defence capabilities. At the same time, the expert noted that among Western allies, the question of readiness for a scenario of a convincing military defeat of Russia still remains open.
