Meeting with the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China Ma Shengkun at Razumkov Centre

On February 6, 2026, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China (PRC) to Ukraine Ma Shengkun visited Razumkov Centre. At this meeting Razumkov Centre was represented  by its President Yu. Yakymenko, Director General P. Pynzenyk, Director of Political and Legal Programmes V. Zamiatin, Co-Director of Foreign Policy and International Security Programmes O. Melnyk.

Yu. Yakymenko informed the Ambassador about the studies performed by Razumkov Centre in 2025 and its plans for the future. Ambassador Ma Shengkun described the current state of relations between Ukraine and the PRC, outlined the main tasks of the Chinese Embassy in Ukraine. During the meeting, the parties held an open and interested discussion on the current geopolitical situation, problems and prospects of the negotiations on the end the Russo-Ukrainian war, including the stance and role of the PRC in ending the war on the UN principles.

The parties emphasized the importance of mutually beneficial partnership in various areas between Beijing and Kyiv, in particular, the significant potential for economic cooperation, business and investment. The need to promote cooperation between Ukraine and the PRC in the information sphere was also noted, in order to disseminate unbiased information about various aspects of life in both countries, the role of mass media and think tanks in this process.
