Artificial Intelligence — Opportunities, Hazards, and Risk Factors

September 16, 2025

The article examines artificial intelligence as a key technology of modernity, capable of radically transforming various spheres of life – from science and economics to healthcare and education. The prospects associated with automation, higher efficiency and new opportunities for the development of society are considered alongside with risks: growing social inequality, pressing humans out of the labour market, the use of AI for military purposes or disinformation campaigns. It focuses on global challenges associated with control of autonomous systems and the potential emergence of superintelligent technologies.

Emphasis is made on the need to combine innovation with regulation in order to ensure safe and responsible development of artificial intelligence. A balanced strategy is proposed: promoting progress, while creating ethical and legal mechanisms that will minimize hazards. Thus, the focus is not only on technical development but also on the future of civilization itself, which will be determined by the ability of mankind to responsibly use new technologies.
