Annual Report 2018

INTRODUCTION

In 2018 the Razumkov Centre stepped up efforts to intensify collaboration with international partners — the objective set forth in its Strategic Plan for 2017-2020. These efforts have translated into distinct results.

The Razumkov Centre has conducted a series of events both in Ukraine and abroad in partnership with leading European and American think tanks. Together with Chatham House and the Atlantic Council, we held a conference “Reforms in Ukraine: Progress and Challenges in 2018” in April 2018 in London. In partnership with the Atlantic Council, a conference “The State of Ukraine’s Energy Sector” was organised in Washington, DC in November 2018. Much work has been done to prepare the UkrainianGerman conference in Berlin, co-hosted by the Razumkov Centre and the Foundation for Political Science and Politics (SWP).

Our Centre became a regular participant of the global and regional think tank networks. Particularly significant is our involvement in Think 20 (T20) Summits — global think tank meetings providing policy recommendations to the G20 leaders. T20 Summit in 2018 took place in Buenos Aires with participation of the Centre’s Volodymyr Sidenko, Senior Research Fellow.

The Centre was traditionally involved in organising and holding the Global (Brussels) and Europe (Berlin) Think Tank Summits, organised by the Think Tanks and Civil Societies Program (TTCSP) of the University of Pennsylvania focusing on key challenges, problems and opportunities for thinks tanks in modern world.

Our Centre was active as a full member of Trans European Policy Studies Association (TEPSA) — Europe’s oldest think tank network, and of the Ukrainian Think Tanks Liaison Office in Brussels, which also has been ranked as one of the best think tanks networks in the world.

Our experts were invited to multiple international events that focused on various key issues of Ukraine’s development. In the course of discussions, our experts presented findings of the Centre’s research projects, as we implemented 15 of them in 2018. The quality of the Razumkov Centre’s research was confirmed by our improved positions in the 2018 Global Go To Think Tank Index.
