Next elections in Ukraine will take place in 2019, including presidential elections on 31 March 2019 and parliamentary elections to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine of the 9th convocation on 27 October 2019. Channel "24" used the Razumkov Centre's public opinion polls of different years to analyse the ratings of political parties and presidential candidates in the 2014 elections, and how they have changed to this day.
Recently, the Razumkov Centre's Sociological Service has released fresh data about electoral sympathies of Ukrainians. If elections to the Verkhovna Rada were held today, the following parties would have joined the Parliament: Petro Poroshenko's Bloc «Solidarity» (13.6%), Fatherland (10%), Civic Position Party (8.9%), Opposition bloc (8.6%), «For Life» party (6.8%), Radical party of Oleh Lyashko (6.5%), "Samopomich" (5.9%). Other parties would not have overcome the 5 per cent electoral barrier.
Interestingly, the "People's Front", which was leading in the 2014 elections, today has no chance of getting into the parliament. Support for the presidential Petro Poroshenko's Bloc, the Opposition Bloc, the Radical Party and "Somopomich" has also decreased. Instead, Yulia Tymoshenko's "Fatherland" has managed to substantially strengthen its position.
In addition, some parties that are currently not represented in the Parliament also have chances of passing the electoral threshold. These are: "Civil Position" of Anatoly Hrytsenko, who won 3.1% of the votes in the 2014 elections, and today has a 8.9% rating; Rabinovich's party "For Life" can also join the parliament — 6.8% of Ukrainians would vote for it today. Mikheil Saakashvili's party (we gather data for all Ukrainian parties, where Saakashvili was among the organizers) has only lost its rating over time, but this autumn it saw some increase in voter sympathy.
«Svoboda», The Right Sector and National Corps, united, have slightly improved their rating, but still not able to enter the Parliament.
If the presidential elections were held today, the public would vote for Petro Poroshenko (14%), Yulia Tymoshenko (8.4%), Anatoliy Hrytsenko (7.2%), Yuriy Boyko (6.8%) and Oleh Lyashko (6.3%). Among the politicians who, according to the polls, have a chance to become the President of Ukraine, Anatoly Hritsenko, Yuriy Boyko and Vadim Rabinovich have strengthened their position.
Poroshenko and Tymoshenko have the highest ratings among presidential candidates.
